Leymah Roberta Gbowee (born 1 February 1972) is the founder and president of Gbowee Peace Foundation Africa, which provides educational and leadership opportunities to girls, women and the youth in West Africa. Leymah Gbowee is a peace activist in Liberia. She led a women’s movement that was pivotal in ending the Second Liberian Civil War in 2003, andnow speaks on behalf of women and girls around the world.
